“Wow. Genuinely, where do we start?”
“We had our wedding at Kippilaw House at the end of June 2019. We had booked the house from the Friday till the Monday and the entire weekend was nothing short of incredible. The house is truly stunning and the bedrooms are just beautiful.
During the weekend itself Lil, Douglas and all the staff could not have been more attentive. Genuinely, anything we needed was there in seconds…and always with a smile.The drinks reception was wonderful and my gosh, the food. From the delicious and refined canapés to the utterly incredible wedding meal itself, you could really see and taste the care and attention put into every plate.
[Lil and Douglas] made our budget go very far and offered loads of advice on what was worth spending more on and where we could save. We trusted them completely and it paid off!!The planning of the wedding was very informal and relaxed, almost like you were chatting to your friend about hosting a dinner party.
You made it a weekend that we will cherish for the rest of our lives.”

“Kippilaw is a stunning house with history, character and beautiful gardens. But what makes Kippilaw so special are the owners, Lil and Douglas.”
They listened to our ideas and completely understood what we wanted. Nothing was too much trouble and their 'anything's possible' approach made the planning process stress-free and great fun.
Kippilaw is more than just a venue. It's a beautiful house in a wonderful location, run by a generous and kind family, where we have made the happiest of memories. We can't thank Kippilaw enough for giving us such a truly special day that we will always remember.”

“Absolutely stunning venue. We had our entire wedding at Kippilaw and couldn't fault it at all.”
“From the moment we arrived on the Friday afternoon, Lil, Douglas and staff were on hand to help us and get everything organised. The rooms are all gorgeous and real effort has been made to maintain as many of the original features as possible (including the thunderbox toilet which was a hit among many of our guests!).The team bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed and our day was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and the staff attentive and friendly without being at all overbearing. Everyone was made to feel very welcome. We had several guests comment on how lovely the house was, how nice the food was and how relaxed the atmosphere was. Truly a weekend to remember. Would thoroughly recommend.”

“We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Kippilaw House; relaxed, informal and so comfortable.”
The house is restored to a lovely standard, but is still quirky enough that you can really feel like it's your own home. The wedding day itself was superb, nothing was too much trouble, the Kippilaw staff felt like very helpful friends. Beautiful setting, excellent food, suited us perfectly. We and our friends and family all had brilliant day.”

“We felt like Lord and Lady of the manor! The setting and thank goodness the weather provided us with the wedding both of us wanted and it exceeded our expectations.”
“The owners and particularly Lil were absolutely fantastic and helped us plan our wedding day to make it just perfect. Their experience and recommendations for our special day were excellent. The in-house team ran our wedding day catering the food etc. The buffet in particularly was out of this world.
We had around 70 guests during the day and that went up to around 160 at night. The ballroom and surrounding rooms provided different environments for the younger folks at the wedding and those such as my gran that just fancied a comfy seat, wine in hand and a chat. All our guests thought the place was amazing and a fabulous place to get married.”

“Lil helped us plan exactly the day that we wanted.”
“Everyone felt at home and had a great time. Although the house is gorgeous, people felt like they could be themselves and relax rather than being burdened by heaps of rules. The guests were blown away by the house and the gardens, and then again by the food.”

“We had our wedding at Kippilaw this July and it was so seamless and magical!”
“We rented out the whole manor for the weekend and our guests felt like they had stepped into a fairy tale. So many people have told us it was their favourite weekend ever. Lil and Doug have put so much love into Kippilaw to make it a spectacular venue inside and out. They were so flexible and let us get married under their magnificent Copper Beech tree. No one had ever done that before and it was divine. Our guests felt so at home and loved staying at Kippilaw and the staff went above and beyond to give us the best experience possible.
All the food was DELICIOUS and exceeded my wildest expectations. That lemon meringue pie was the best I ever tasted! Working with Lil to create the wedding of my dreams was a joy and I had to plan the whole thing for 63 guests coming from the United States. She made everything run like clockwork and went to all lengths to take care of our needs and vision. I would love to host another event at Kippilaw and would give this venue 10 stars if I could!”

“We had the most fantastic time at Kippilaw House for our wedding. Words can't describe how amazing it was.”
“Everyone commented on how brilliant a venue it was and how everything ran so smoothly.The rooms were all gorgeous and we loved that on the Friday, Sunday and Monday we were left to our own devices. It gave us the chance to relax and chat with everyone without having to try and get round them all on the day of our wedding. There are very few places where that would have been possible (we know because we scoured the whole of Scotland trying to find them!) and being able to turn our wedding day into a wedding weekend really made it so special.Lil is so laid back it helped us remain laid back and I think we can honestly say that we are the only people we know to get married who didn't have any stress in the run up to the wedding or on the day. Thank you!”

“We… had our wedding feast in the ballroom which was nothing short of brilliant.”
“Homemade game terrine with homemade oatcakes – the terrine was moist and delicious and the oatcakes were so tasty. We followed this by huge local roast chickens with all the trimmings. We had asked for this to be carved at the table by nominated guests, so everyone got involved in the food which worked really well. The staff also had smiles on their faces watching everything take place. It is clear that Kippliaw House spare no expense when it comes to sourcing and preparing any food they put on. It really shows in the end result.Kippilaw is the most magical venue which is so flexible. It really can lend itself to any event and has a wonderful ability to feel like everyone’s home.”
